Astana Qazaqstan Development Team presents its roster for 2024
The UCI Continental team Astana Qazaqstan Development Team completed its roster for the upcoming season.
In addition to six riders (Alexandr Vinokurov, Andrey Remkhe, Davide Toneatti, Simone Zanini, Nil Aguilera Jorba, Savelii Laptev) who were competing in the season 2023, the team will be reinforced with seven newcomers:
Ruslan Yelyubaev (Kazakhstan) – bronze medalist of the Asian Continental Championships in track cycling.
Ilkhan Dostiyev (Kazakhstan) – winner of the one-day race Tour of Bostonliq II in 2023 and silver medalist of the U23 National championships of Kazakhstan in the road race.
Rudolf Remkhi (Kazakhstan) – stage-winner at Tour of Sharjah, the best young rider at Tour of Iran and silver medalist of the National championships of Kazakhstan in the ITT in 2023.
Alessandro Romele (Italy) – stage-winner at Giro Next Gen and winner of three one-day races in 2023.
Mattia Negrente (Italy) – won five races among Juniors in Europe in 2023.
Artem Fofonov (France) – stage-winner at Tour du Léman in 2023.
Jonas Reibsch (Germany) – won two races among Juniors in Germany in 2023.
“When we created our continental team in 2022, we had an aim of preparing young athletes for their future step up into our World Tour team. This year we have already seen good progress with the first international victories and promotion of the three riders to the top division. Thus, we see that our system is working as expected. In addition to strengthening the line-up of riders, we have also brought in an experienced specialist Dmitry Sedoun to work with the development team in 2024. At our pre-season training camp in December the team’s Sports Directors outlined goals for the upcoming season and riders completed a great amount of joint work. We are optimistic about our future and are confident that the continental team will continue to bring us young talented riders who are ready for the World Tour level the Astana Qazaqstan Team”, – said Alexander Vinokurov, General Manager of the Astana Qazaqstan Team.
