Belgrade Banjaluka. Davide Toneatti wins the second stage

The rider of Astana Qazaqstan Development Team Davide Toneatti won the second stage of Belgrade Banjaluka race.

Today’s stage with the total distance of 149 kilometres from Zvornik to Vlasenica finished with a nail-biting sprint in which race commissaires concluded the victory of Davide Toneatti and a disqualification of his contender who raced dangerously in the final meters of a sprint. That is a first victory achieved by Davide Toneatti this season.

“Today was a difficult stage, a lot of attacks, we needed to control a lot, and in the end our team worked really well by closing the gaps of attacking riders who tried to break away. The group stretched in the final climb, and I managed to be in the right position and was able to show a good sprint. I am happy with my first victory, we still have two more stages to go,” – said Davide Toneatti after the finish of the race.
