Critérium du Dauphiné. Lorenzo Fortunato wins the KOM classification.

The rider of Astana Qazaqstan Team Lorenzo Fortunato finished the UCI WorldTour stage race Critérium du Dauphiné by winning the mountains classification.

For the Italian, it was the first race after Giro d’Italia and after several demanding stages, Lorenzo gained momentum and managed to claim points in the KOM classification, securing the jersey in the final stage.

“Starting a stage race straight after a Grand Tour is of course a demanding challenge, but after the first days, where I struggled a bit, I felt back in shape in the second part of the race. However, it was a tough race for all of us, with unfortunate crashes. I feel good now and I am glad to finish the race by winning the KOM jersey”, – said Lorenzo Fortunato.
